Story
Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.
Our son, Arjan, fell ill in June 2021 and was later diagnosed with PANS/PANDAS syndrome. It has been a deeply challenging journey, but through it all, Arjan has shown incredible courage, determination, and spirit.
He continues to amaze us every single day with his resilience and positivity. His strength, sense of humour, and unwavering determination to keep moving forward are nothing short of inspiring. Despite everything he has faced, Arjan meets each day with bravery and hope.
We are so incredibly proud of our wonderful boy and all that he has overcome so far.
Thank you for your support in helping us continue this journey.
The Challenge
On 1st June, we will be taking part in the Royal Sutton Fun Run, completing an 8.5-mile walk, jog, or run as a family. Our goal is to raise awareness of PANS/PANDAS and support the charity in helping families like ours.
One of the biggest challenges we've faced is that while the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises this condition, the NHS does not yet fully acknowledge it. The more awareness and support this condition receives, the greater the chance for early diagnosis and treatment—ensuring children like Arjan get the help they need.PANS and PANDAS are conditions causing inflammation in the brain resulting in neuro-psychiatric symptoms such as OCD, tics, eating disorders and anxiety along with many more.
