I am fundraising to meet the minimum target of £800 to volunteer abroad for three months with VSO in Kenya!

All donations go to VSO, the agency in charge of placing volunteers abroad. They are a part of the International Citizen Service (ICS) a scheme that enables anyone 18-25 to volunteer abroad and participate in beneficial poverty reduction schemes.

All money donated does not directly fund any element of my placement.  Instead it goes towards a funding pool with the aim of enabling 14000 volunteers from the UK and host countries to make a difference by 2015!. 

As part of the ICS Entrepeneur scheme,  I will be working with a local business in Kenya  to help them grow and expand their products and profitability.  This then allows the business to expand their workforce which tackles unemployment and poverty!

This volunteering experience is very important to me, as its a way to put in place the skills I have learnt through University and vocational experience to contribute to a positive cause, as well as an opportunity learn new things and meet new people!
