Story
Updated 4/11/11. We managed to cycle 373 miles (601km) in our 24 hours! Overall, across all teams, we recorded a distance of 25,389 miles, which not only beat the original target of 18,200 miles (the land distance of the world) but also the greater target of 24,901 miles (the distance around the equator). Many thanks to all those who generously supported our efforts.
At 10am on Thursday 3rd November, 8 colleagues from Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets in Aberdeen will take part in a national challenge to cycle 'Around the World' in 24 hours. Our team of 8 comprises: Graham Fiddes, Gordon Mathieson, Richard McKay, Carolyn Martin, Gillian Grant, Stuart Brown, Neale Henderson and Andrew Robertson. The challenge is to cycle a static bike continuously for a 24 hour period, ending at 10am on Friday 4th November. Total miles cycled will be added up across all the Lloyds teams throughout the UK, in an attempt to have cycled the equivalent of going around the world in the 24 hours.
Please assist us in raising funds for our chosen charity of the year - Save the Children, by donating anything you can spare.
Many thanks.
