Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We have completed The Arran Challenge- a 100km round trip of the island in 2.5 days to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Day 1 was a mix of nice weather and torrential showers.  Day 2 was gloriously sunny.  Day 3 rained constantly, was ridiculously misty and at times the wind was literally blowing us off our feet. 

Highlights include no midges (delightful), lots of incredible wild life (butterflies, geese, peacocks, a basking shark and a snake), breath-taking views (when we could see in front of our eyes), our wonderful support crew and remembering the money you'd all pledged, which helped to push us on. 

Lowlights include clambering across boulders (for 2 hours, covering something pitiful like 2 kilometres), wandering through very jaggy gorse bushes (for a good 30 minutes only to discover we were in the wrong field), and one of us being caught peeing by a jogger in the mist (and realising they were so tired that they didn't actually care).

This challenge was our way of expressing our ongoing support for a dear friend and her child. That's the priceless part but we're incredibly grateful and proud to see how much we have rasied so far.  That's the part we must thank you all very much for.

Every week 5 babies are born with CF.  A few years ago it was our best friend's baby. We wanted to do something positive to help make sure that he and others like him have a brighter future.
