Story

Some people don't just exsist in our lives but they bring out the best in us and make the world a better place by just being themselves. These kind of people are hard to find and if you ever meet a person as such, consider yourselves very lucky. On April 1st 2016, we lost a very special and important person in our lives who lit up a room by just being there. I know I sound like a very biased sister but I like to think of it as just being proud. Most of you will know my sister as Ashley, Ash or AF16, but to me she will always be Addy.

Since April 1st, life has not been the same.
As a family, we would like to bring awareness of a wonderful charity who aim to prevent other families going through similar situations. We were all unaware of Addy's heart condition but Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac deaths. As well as supporting young people diagnosed with cardiac conditions and bereaved families affected by young sudden cardiac deaths, CRY promotes and develops screening programmes and funds medical research.

On July 9th 2017, some of Addy's family and friends will be participating in a 10km walk passing 12 of London's famous landmarks representing the 12 young sudden cardiac deaths that occur each week in the UK. This event helps reduce the amount of families having to go through a tragedy such as ours.

Thank-you for reading Addy's story and if you wish to donate to this worthwhile cause, every penny will help.
