I've reached my 5K target - and thanks to everyone who helped me to that.  So.. stretch is £6500 - and I'm looking for a VG.

On a recently cycling trip to Sri Lanka I was completely shocked by the amount of street dogs roaming the backroads and towns.  These dogs were visibly ill, undernourished, scared, hungry and timid.  They had never been loved.  Here in the UK we are a nation of pet Lovers.  There I have seen dogs so frail and emaciated, a few pounds will go a long way to improving the quality of life.. 

Animal SOS Sri Lanka provide quality veterinary care to stray animals and some pets as well as refuge and rehabilitation. We have a beautiful free roaming animal sanctuary in the south of Sri Lanka which provides a safe haven for sick, disabled and vulnerable stray dogs. We also have some cats at the sanctuary, mainly orphaned kittens rescued from the streets and plan to build a similar facility for them if funds allow.
We have an on-site veterinary clinic with a resident local vet and are operational every day of the week providing lifesaving treatment and care to sick and injured animals. We also operate neutering/ rabies vaccination programs, adoption schemes and animal welfare education.
