We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are six friends (Tuma, Kezia, Lottie, Lauren, Ellie and Hannah)who swim for Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club in East Yorkshire.

Ellie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in June 2013 and as she has been living with the condition for one year now we thought it would be a great idea to raise some money for JDRF - the Type 1 Diabetes charity whose mission it is to cure, treat and prevent Type 1 Diabetes

On the 22nd June 2014 our challenge will be to swim/cycle/row as a relay team continuously for 12 hours from 8.30am until 8.30pm.

Beverley Leisure Centre have kindly agreed to support us by donating a lane of their pool and the use of their cardio gym facilities for the duration of our 12 hour challenge.

We really want to make the most of this opportunity and appreciate any donations towards our gym and swim JDRF fundraising challenge. Thank you.

UPDATE - On Sunday 22nd June we completed our 12 hour relay! Between us we.....

Rowed  20.472km / 12.72 miles

Cycled 56.39km / 35 miles

Swam 52.7km /32.75miles

A massive 80.5 miles in total!

Thanks to all of our friends and family for their support throughout the day and to everyone who has kindly donated towards our event. To date we hope to have raised a total of £1500 (online and offline donations) for JDRF - not a bad days work!

UPDATE - 20/7/14 Offline donations collected to date £765.40! Thank you to everyone for your support.

UPDATE-30/7/14 Offine donations collected to date £957.88! Thank you :)
