It's over a year now since our little boy Stan died because of Meningitis.  I can’t put into words how much I miss him but I want to do something positive. I’m teaming up with my mate Greg to run the Belfast Marathon in May 2009.  We want to raise money for Meningitis research with the hope that one day it will be eradicated.  Funding is also needed to provide support and aftercare for surviving victims of the disease.

Stan was just over 3. He was amazing, big and strong and clever. I still can't believe he's gone.  He tired us out with his demands for fun but filled us with energy at the same time.  He'd make us laugh saying "you can do anything if you try".  Anyone saying "I can't" would be corrected.  I had taught him that, and I always keep this memory close to mind.  Hopefully it will give us strength to struggle through those last few miles!
