Story
Ware birdwatcher Barry Reed has embarked on a two month bird-watching expedition to raise funds to help Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust to buy Ball’s Wood, near Hertford.
Barry’s aim is to see 100 different species of birds in Balls Wood and the Trust’s other 44 nature reserves across Hertfordshire and Middlesex, by the end of March.
“I will need all the help I can get if I’m to meet my target. Please inform the Trust of any unusual sightings which may help me to target my efforts.”
Barry is the Trust’s Volunteer Recorder for Amwell Nature Reserve and has been birdwatching in the county for over 35 years where he has seen 250 different species. He is also an avid traveller and has seen 6300 species across the world’s continents.
