Story
The answer lies with a boy called Menachem whom I met 4 years ago.
His father had abandoned him, his mother and 3 brothers. His mother could not cope and used to constantly hit him and his brothers. He got into trouble lying, stealing, taking drugs, being arrested and of course missing out on school. He had been rejected by his school and several institutions he had been sent to. It was only when he arrived at the EMUNAH children’s home in Afula that he finally found a real home and people who loved and cared about him so much that they refused to give up on him. Today he is one of the most respected boys in the home, a real mentor to the younger children, having joined the army and currently serving in one of the elite units. I was very taken by him and so were my family, who could not get over his wonderful manners and gentle demeanour.
He is a real success story illustrating the amazing work that EMUNAH does literally saving the lives of hundreds of children every day. It is because of boys like Menachem and the challenges that have faced in their lives that I have decided to set myself a real challenge to try and help them… so I signed up for
THE TRIPLE E CHALLENGE : EMUNAH ENDURANCE EXPEDITION
I have been very lucky that throughout my life I have had a very supportive family. But there are many children in like Menachem who do not have such families. I am hoping that you will support me in my efforts to raise money so that the wonderful work of EMUNAH can continue.
