Story
The Edinburgh Marathon Festival was a huge success with over 20,000 participants in total. I surpassed my goal of 3 hours and 30 minutes by just under six minutes, my official time being 3:24:21, over 30 minutes faster than my first marathon. Thanks to all that volunteered for the event, and for those who supported me and donated to MS. And it is still not to late to donate!
Scotland has one of the highest incidences of Multiple Sclerosis in the world. MS Society Scotland makes it their mission to beat it. They raise awareness of MS, make it a priority at political level and provide support and information to people affected by MS around the country.
Any donation, large or small, is very much appreciated (I have selected to keep the amounts of each donation unpublished). Here's how your support helps:
£1 pays for 10 information packs to send out to people newly diagnosed with MS
£28 funds an hour of research into finding a cure for MS
£38 runs the MS Society helpline for half an hour
£100 pays for a young carer to enjoy a well deserved break or participate in a chosen activity
Note: the current exchange rate from British Pounds to US Dollars is around 1.6
