Fundraising Event
In Honor of Rebecca Dee Beacroft
For those who knew Becky Beacroft and for those who didn't.
Becky, sadly, past away at the very young age of 29. On the 27th September 2008.
Leaving behind her beautiful daughter Billie-jo aged 11 and many family and friends who loved her dearly.
Bec was a loving person who was first diagnosed with cancer at 23 yrs old, she had a 15cm high grade spindle cell sarcoma growing on her pelvis and had unsuccessful operation followed by chemo and radiotherapy.
In 2004 Bec had another operation and a full hysterectomy. They removed the tumour but tiny cells had attached to her other organs. In 2005 there were more tumours on her liver and she underwent another operation to remove them. In 2006 two more tumours were discovered on her liver so Bec underwent further chemo followed by radiofrequency.
In January 2007 Bec was diagnosed with further tumours on the liver, her abdomen and the lining of her scar. Bec was then on a chemo tablet called Glivec. Bec’s cancer was Gastrointestinal stromal tumour but they were not sure if this had been diagnosed correctly as it was very rare for someone of her age.
From then on it still remained and had only shrunk with radiotherapy.
Summertime 2008 she had problems with her bowel. September 2nd 2008 Bec was then taken into hospital for another operation which was unsuccessful and was given days to live and sadly past away on the 27th September 2008.
Bec was such a fighter, as everyone who knew her would know, and was so strong, even when she was really ill she still managed to have a smile on her face. Bec was such a friendly person and will be missed so much by all her family and friends.
Saturday 14th march 2009 we will be holding a fundraising event, to help make Billie-jo and Bec's parents (Barbara and Tony) wishes come true to help them raise enough money to buy a headstone for Bec’s grave as they cannot afford to do this alone.
