Great Ormond Street Hospital.

THE HADRIANS WALL HIKE is a  ‘challenging weekend hike through wonderful Northumbrian countryside, retracing the steps of the Romans’

We will be trekking 15 miles on day one and 6 miles on day 2.

A total of 21miles/34km.

In preparation for this I am increasing my visits to the Gym and the hill program on the tread mill has become a regular routine. I also enjoy walking at least 20 miles a week for school runs, as well as to and from different activities with Benjamin, much more fun than waiting for a bus or sitting in the car! 

I first signed up for this because I was encouraged by some good friends to join them. I loved the idea of hiking in a beautiful part of the country I had never visited before and I also think Great Ormond street is a great place and very worthwhile fund raising for. I soon learned that if it wasn't for Great Ormond Street hospital my Mother would have died as a young baby. She was rushed there because of a stomach blockage and operated on. So my family and I owe a lot to them. I also have friends whose children have done and still do benefit from the hospitals services and all have spoken very highly of the care and treatment they've received.
