We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

AARONS ANGELS

IN MEMORY OF AARON DAVID JUNIOR
17-06-2009...31-05-2015
Forever 5years old

Many of you may already know I'm Katie, I am the mummy of Aaron David Junior. Aaron Junior was diagnosed with Burkitts Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma stage III Cancer in January. He had a very large tumour in his abdomen. Doctors at GOSH were very keen to start his very harsh chemotherapy as soon as possible, so the journey began. It was a very tough time for him, very scary and very testing. So many side effects, so many different surroundings. He went from living a 'normal' life, going to school, going on outings to the woods, playing in the garden to living in a room with bleeping machines, scans, blood transfusions and strange faces. We had hope.

It was then after long disturbed nights of intense chemotherapy for four months, not once being able to get him home in between, in April the doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital unfortunately told us his cancer was terminal and he would not live.
We was robbed of hope...we hung on so tightly.
My heart broke into a million pieces, Aaron Junior, my only child, my world, he was the reason I breathe, I lived for him, we lived for each other. So many questions and emotions drowned me. He was a child, he had so much to live for, he wanted to be a dinosaur when he was older! All these questions and emotions and all I could come up with was...it's not fair!
Aaron junior put up the most dignified fight I've ever seen in such a small human being, he was courageous, brave, proud, he had the most enchanting smile, he was the kindest of them all, most of all he was the strongest and will forever be a hero to many that were blessed to know him.

Whilst being in Great Ormond Street Hospital Aaron Junior had the best time he possibly could..all down to the fantastic #TeamElephant on Elephant Ward.
Between me and my sister we sat racking our brains as to what we could do to help, we needed to make an impact, a difference, for the children! So we are raising money any way possible to go to Elephant ward at GOSH, it's the least we can do right!? When Aaron Junior was receiving his treatment it was something he was inquisitive about and wanted to give back and help the hospital himself, he couldn't wait to grow his hair back so he could cut it off and give it to the other poorly children like him.

The amazing children on Elephant ward GOSH quite frankly deserve the world!!
So much of what we see about childhood cancer doesn’t tell the real story. Children are more than their cancer, their journey through treatment is one hell ride of a journey and is not just about Losing hair and being sick.
Childhood cancer is an isolating experience, these children endure so much and do it all with beautiful smiles on their faces! Let's come together, become one big force to help break down those barriers..we haven't a cure..YET but we can make the journey a little more bearable by supporting Elephant Ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE donate as much as you can!!
All money raised will be going straight to Elephant ward at GOSH for special equipment to better the ward for all the little heroes fighting the hardest battle..Cancer, this ward is very close to our hearts, the whole team there are only what I can describe as living Angels, they helped my family through very dark times and most of all cared with the biggest hearts for my little soldier Aaron David Junior.
When donating or involved in fundraising please #aarondj #aaronsangels #bellytheelephant
