Story

Thank you for visiting Ben's Just Giving Page.

The Ben Daniels Memorial Fund now has it's own website www.bendanielsmemorialfund.com

Ben collapsed at football training with his club on Saturday 5 March 2011 and passed away on Tuesday 8 March 2011.

Ben was a true Gentleman, he was a kind, caring and hardworking young man who was very well liked and respected. He was a dedicated sportsman, an excellent leader and a role model amongst both his peers and younger people. He will be sadly missed.

The Ben Daniels Memorial Fund has been set up by the family and friends of Ben to work with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) to reduce the frequency of young cardiac death. The aim is to fund the screening of young people within the sporting communities within which Ben played his sport.

Each week in the UK at least 12 apparently ‘fit and healthy’ young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. By raising awareness and providing screening opportunities through CRY our aim, in Ben’s name, is to prevent similar tragedies.

CRY aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of young people.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you
