Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

Our objective is simple: 'Building Better Futures' for young adults with autism, by providing bespoke employment training and work experience. Training takes place at The Autism Trust & Polly's Place in Camberley, which sells handmade gifts & art created by people with autism & their families.

Story

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm pleased to say that I have been given the exciting opportunity to support The Autism Trust by running in the London Marathon. I have committed to raising £10K for The Autism Trust and to achieve that I need your help.

1 in every 150 children is diagnosed with autism!
A poem by my daddy...

"I knew something was terribly wrong,
Our happy smiling boy was soon gone.
A child developing normally but losing his skills,
But early diagnosis and screening soon soothed the ills."
Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others.
A complex neurological disorder,a  roller coaster for fathers and mothers.
Giving, showing, reaching, waving, pointing is not there as a child.
Symptoms ranging from extremely severe to very mild..
No big smiles that transmit much joy.
Four times more likely to strike a boy.
As they become older they become more aware of their limitations.
Other people's ignorance, adolescent years, trials and tribulations.
More common than diabetes and cancer.
To raise more money with Maribeth is definately the answer.

Thank you for your support on this feat
