Story

Thank you to all of you that have already sponsored me helping to reach my target.

Having reached 60 this year, I decided to do something for my friends; family and colleagues who sadly lost their fight against cancer, and for those that are still fighting this terrible disease. I successfully completed the Hathersage Hilly Triathlon on Sunday 30th June, supported by my family. Not having done one of these before I trained hard and managed to complete it in 1 hour and 47 minutes, (185 out of 274 contestants), not bad for a 60 year old, but I did do a lot of training.  As you may already know my sister in law Claire, and a dear friend have both been battling cancer for some time. Sadly Claire recently developed a brain tumour. The cancer specialists at Sheffield hospital used a Gamma Knife to zap the tumour, which appears to have had some results, as the mobility in her right arm and leg has improved slightly. Claire remains stoic and an example of strength and bravery to us all, so we are all very hopeful. The Gamma Knife, is one of the latest gadgets in the fight against cancer to destroy inoperable tumours.  It is this type of equipment that can save the lives of our friends and relatives that are so precious to us all. Your donations will help in more innovative equipment to beat cancer. Thank you all so much for your support and donations.

Wishing you all a long and healthy life
