LOCALS WALK TO HONOUR THOSE WHO SERVE
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I Served 15 years in the Britsh Army and i recognise the need for a charity like The Royal Britsh Legion,
So this year being the 3rd that i am a veteran and witnessing thousands of my friends and colleagues being made redundant i see no better opportunity to support and recruit others to join this event.
the intention is to complete:
Jan - Gayton 10km - Done 57 mins
Feb - Local Abington Park Loop 10km - Done 53 mins
Mar - SIlverstone 1/2 Marathon 21km - Done 2Hr.13 mins
April - MK 10km
May - MK Marathon 42km
June - 10km TBC
July - Honour Walk 100+km (BMF Nottingham to BMF Northampton)
= 200kms
Supporters of The Royal British Legion in Northamptonare staging an Honour Walk to celebrate our Armed Forces, past and present.
“Everyone here is walking to show their support for someone, be it a family member or friend, that they know who has served their country."
“The Legion spend £1.4 million a week on welfare services and we’re hoping the money we raise will go a little way to helping them carry out this vital work.”
This walk is one of many taking place across the country to help raise funds for The Royal British Legion.
The NorthamptonHonour Walk takes place at Abington Park on Sunday 30 June 2013, everyone is welcome.
The Royal British Legion is the nation's leading Armed Forces charity providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families. It is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces.
