On Feb 16, 2023, my husband’s life changed forever in an instant when he had a significant heart attack after playing a game of hockey, like he had done so many nights before. Needless to say, it was quite the shock. He was lucky to have recovered after 2 stents and weeks of cardiac rehab. The care he received at the Ottawa Heart Institute was outstanding in every way. It could have had very different outcome and we are all eternally grateful for the prompt and expert treatment he received.

On Sunday May 25th I am running the Ottawa Tamarack marathon (my first ever!) and raising money and awareness of The Ottawa Heart Institute. Many things changed for Tim that day; he is not able to train or run marathons… so while I was on the fence about signing up for this race, that was one of the reasons I decided to do it; because I can. That day made me us all realize that we can’t take anything for granted in this life, it can change so quickly. Tim will be in my heart the whole 42.2 km.
