In 2023, Jodie faced the biggest challenge of her life when she underwent treatment for Leukemia. During an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, she and her husband Chris were supported by Bright Red — a lifeline when they needed it most.

What makes this story even more special is who Jodie and Chris are to everyone else. Through their business, Metcalfe Coaches Ltd, they are always there for their community, supporting people both young and old. They give their time, energy, and care so freely, never asking for anything in return. Helping others is simply who they are.

Now it’s my turn to give something back.

On Sunday 1st February, I’ll be running the X Border 10k. If you know me, you’ll know this is no small feat — I hate running and I’m definitely not known for my cardiovascular training, in or out of the gym! This run will be tough, but it’s nothing compared to what Jodie and Chris faced together.

I’m doing this because when they needed support the most, Bright Red was there for them. Any donation, big or small, will help ensure Bright Red can continue to be there for others facing their own toughest moments.
