Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Heidi and Alfred, two Border Terriers from the #BTPosse on Twitter. We both love spending time in our gardens, supervising our hoos, admiring the flowers (whilst avoiding temptation to eat them!) and sharing photos of the beautiful blooms in our gardens. It was with this in mind that we had the idea of the BT Flower Show. With the sad absence of Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows again this year due to COVID, we set about creating our own competition and supporting Border Terrier Welfare at the same time.

The BT Flower Show offers a truly special Best in Show prize - a personalised Wentworth wooden 500 piece jigsaw puzzle (worth £68). These puzzles are of exceptional quality and will be a memorable keepsake for the winner. Borders show no boundaries and this prize can be shipped worldwide.

All you have to do to be within a chance of winning this special prize is post a photo on Twitter with the #BTFlowerShow hashtag on Saturday 8th May 2021. Keeping within the theme of Border Terriers and flowers we want to see Borders in the borders or maybe even disorder in the border!

We have a very special guest judge for the Best in Show prize. We all know the tremendous impact Sir Seb had on the BT Posse and our shared heartbreak when he left for the rainbow bridge. It is with great joy that Mrs Seb has agreed to preside over the competition.

So here we are, the first Border Terrier Flower Show. Please join in the fun and share the joy on Saturday 8th May 2021 and please donate if you can.

Let’s make this a pawsome event. Love from,

🌸🌿🐾 Heidi and Alfred 🐾🌿🌸

About the charity

Started in November 1981 with two strays in Southampton, we now cover the UK, receiving some 250 referrals annually, with dedicated volunteers and no paid staff. A committee of 12 is elected annually at an October AGM. 10 of these are charity trustees, who meet 4 times a year to review progress and determine strategy. BTW receive invaluable support and assistance from 7 regional breed clubs, and from the more informal btposse, and borderfest groups, from whom fund raising challenges have emanated.
