Story

Goodwill Children’s Homes

Goodwill Children's Homes is a based charity that has been providing long term care and education for destitute children in for over 30 years.  The Charity is in the process of building a new home for their older children and Buffalo Fundraising Consultants is pleased to be able to help this most recent project.

New land has been purchased near the town of .  The site is close to some local schools, which will ensure the children get a good education, and the new site also has plenty of space for the children to play.  The surrounding land is very fertile and includes three wells and by farming this land, the children’s diet can be supplemented with fresh foods.

Building work started in 2007 and is coming on well.  The boys’ accommodation has been completed and is now occupied, while construction work for the girls’ accommodation and central dining hall is already underway.  Enough funds have already been raised for the buildings, but there is no money to equip the kitchen and dining room which are due to open in January 2010.

want to continue to help this wonderful project and so an unfit herd of employees have signed up to tackle the Bristol Half Marathon.   ‘A half marathon?’ I hear some of you cry. ‘Why not a full one?’ The answer is simple: .  This city doesn’t do things by halves, it does things in halves - as they’re so extreme!  For example, there’s a famous cider (Exhibition) which can only legally be served in half pints as it is so strong.  Likewise, the marathon only needs to be half the usual distance due to the brutal running conditions - is a series of very steep hills and no one enjoys running up hills.

We hope that you will be kind enough to sponsor our efforts.  A small donation will go a long way to help complete the orphanage.  For example:

£5 will buy one dining room chair (240 required)

£15 will buy one dining room table (24 required)

£65 will buy an oven (4 required)
