TEAM UPDATE 24th JULY *********************************
Thanks to everyone who has been so generous so far - we are now very close to our team target which is a relief! But there is still time to give if you can - and remember that any excess funds will be well used for the same causes!

Hi there
Thank you for visiting our team fundraising page. Please dig deep and consider sponsoring us online.
As a team we are going out to Uganda in August for 2 weeks to a village about 3 hours drive east of Kampala called Busu. With such a large and talented team, our tasks are many – the main ones include:
Funding & building a much needed extension to The Suubi Medical Clinic
Funding & carrying out some much needed repairs and maintenance to the local school, The Busu Parents Primary School (children aged from 5 to 14yrs)
Purchasing medical supplies, equiping a new Laboratory and assisting at the Suubi Medical Clinic
Purchasing school materials and helping with teaching at the school
There are many other smaller projects that we are hoping to get involved in including Beekeeping, Well Digging and Water Capture & Recycling to name a few.
And so to the team - there are 23 of us aged from 12 to 55 including some whole families. Most of the team are based around Romsey in Hampshire and come from a wide variety of backgrounds including building, teaching, farming, medical and of course students.
More specifically the team comprises;
Ball Family including Phil (Team leader & Health and Safety - Construction), Michele (Midwife), Em (Student) and Tobes (Student)
Ord Family including Dick (Builder), Mandy (Caterer & Beekeeper), Ben (Student), Josie (Student & Beekeeper) & Josh (Student)
Dugdale Family including Jerry (Team finance - Property Developer), Elspeth (Teacher), Jake (Student), Grace (Student) & Jesse (Student)
Andrew Swayne (Estate Agent) & Daughter Maisie (Student)
Rob Fielder (Team Engineer & QS - Civil Engineer)
Tim Howkins (Agricultural supplier)
Nick Allen (IT & Computers)
Bethan Bowles (Teacher)
Lara Schlich-Davies (Student)
David Thompson (Student)
Kathy Foote (Student)
We have quite a hefty team target of £35,650 which equates to £1550 per person. This amount has been budgeted to cover all of the trip costs and to pay for all the materials & supplies that we are going to use. Every pound raised above our target will get spent on additional materials and supplies. Please note that the amount shown as already raised on this website has been mainly down to each team member chipping in and paying towards their own costs.
As neither ‘The Suubi Medical Clinic’ nor ‘The Busu Parents Primary School’ are UK registered charities, all donations are being collected via ‘The Dugdale Charitable Trust’ (which is a UK registered charity) to allow tax to be reclaimed on all qualifying donations. For more information about The Suubi Medical Clinic and the local area around Busu, please visit their website www.suubiclinic.co.uk
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Busu projects will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you add a donation on this website, please specify who you are sponsoring in your comments - thanks.
Alternatively, you may prefer to donate by sending a cheque – please make any cheques out to ‘The Dugdale Charitable Trust’ and send it to (please indicate if you require a receipt):
Mr J. Dugdale, Colsons Barn, Church Lane, Braishfield, Hampshire SO51 0QH
Thank you for taking the time to read down this far - even if you would prefer not to sponsor us, we appreciate your interest and support.
Finally, a very big thank you to the many businesses and individuals who have already pledged or sent in money.
Please sponsor us now if you can!
'Give a hand up, rather than a hand out!'
Many thanks again for your support.
