Many of you will know my story. In 2009 I fell down the stairs, incurring C4/5 life changing Spinal cord injury. Since then, each year, friends and family generously support me in my fundraising for the Spinal Injury Association, as well as helping motivate me to take on challenges which prove to others like me, that there is life & adventure post accident. On 8th, 9th & 10th June this year, I will be joining forces with my friends Sarah Wilkinson, Babs Bond, Sarah Dyer & Jen Carson, to attempt the Jurassic Coast Challenge (3 marathons hiked in 3 days).

The Jurassic Coast Challenge is a gruelling 76 mile walk from Chalmouth to Shell Beach on Studland done over 3 days. The undulating route consists of tough terrain and over 2000m of ascent, greater than climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis, along the dramatic Dorset coastline. A tough challenge for the most able bodied and fittest of individuals. 

My additional challenge: reduced lung function, altered sensation from the neck down (the inability to feel the ground under foot and blisters!), low blood pressure, delayed healing, the body's inability to moderate its temperature & the risk of autonomic dysreflexia, are just some of the symptoms of C4/5 spinal cord injury which I live with each day, and will serve to make this my greatest physical challenge post injury.
