Story
This JustGiving page has been set up in memory of one of Ulster rugby's most fervent fans, and UAFC members, 'cables'.
Stanley was a gentleman of the 'old school'. A respected man who showed the same respect for others. His passion revolved around Ulster Rugby, where he was regularly seen on a Friday night standing on the prom at Ravenhill with his son watching the men in white through thick and thin. For Stanley, nothing was too much trouble, and for anyone who asked a favour, Stanley would go out of his way to help, and to the best of his ability.
'cables' was a regular poster on the UAFC, and other messageboards, and came to be seen as the 'go-to' expert on Irish Rugby history, in particular Ulster rugby, his objective being to get a full Ulster Rugby record back to WWII. His encyclopaedic knowledge came across every time he posted. However, this was a man who not only enjoyed being able to confound and stump us with his questions and answers on Ulster trivia, but he had a sharp and dry wit which many appreciated every time he posted.
cables used the CRY graphic as his avatar on the messageboard, and it was felt appropriate that we should pay our respects in a way that cables would have approved of.
