Story
Appearing at the World Music Championships will bring a wide range of benefits to the band and marks a historic milestone, as we become the first ever Scottish band to take part in this prestigious international competition. The Championships attract new audiences worldwide and has large online following through live streaming, which will significantly raise the band’s profile. We anticipate increased social media engagement, website visits, ticket sales, and interest from potential sponsors and partners.
This enhanced visibility and potential future income will allow us to expand our concerts and workshops, enabling us to reach more people and share the benefits of community music-making as widely as possible. The Championships also provide valuable opportunities for networking and strengthening community cohesion within Glasgow and across the wider Scottish brass band community.
Through media engagement we will showcase the high quality of brass bands in Glasgow and across Scotland. We expect a positive knock-on effect as audiences are encouraged to explore and support their own local brass bands.
The impact on the 35 musicians taking part will be significant. The exceptionally high musical standards required will refine and develop their skills, while the shared experience will strengthen an already strong sense of community. For many members, this represents the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.
