10 DAYS FOR CHANGE

Campaign by Change Please

This Oct 1–10, back Change Please's 10 Days for Change. A job alone won't end homelessness, people need stable homes too. Your donation helps our trainees with deposits and secure housing. A roof isn't enough. Help us build homes that work.

The Change Please Foundation is working to alleviate homelessness through onward employment. We train people to become baristas, and support them with everything they need to turn their lives around - a living wage job, mental health support, housing advice, and employment opportunities.

Story

Building Homes That Work: End Homelessness for Good

Every day, our baristas prove that with the right support, a fresh start is possible. Since we began, Change Please has trained and employed people who've experienced homelessness — giving them a living wage, a purpose, and a place in a team. But we've come up against a hard truth: a job isn't enough on its own.

Right now, the missing link in our Barista Training Programme is housing. We can give someone the skills, the confidence and the paycheck, but if they don't have a stable, secure place to call home, everything we've built together is at risk. Unstable housing is one of the biggest barriers to keeping a full-time job, and one of the biggest reasons people fall back into homelessness. This has to change.

That's why this year's 10 Days for Change is all about Stable Housing and Sustainable Employment, because you need both to fight homelessness for good.

Why now?

Homelessness is at the top of the national agenda. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has committed £340m to end long-term rough sleeping, with a pledge to offer every rough sleeper accommodation by Christmas. It's a vital step, but a roof alone won't end homelessness. Without secure housing and the support services that help people hold down work, the cycle simply repeats.

We want to show the Prime Minister, and the public, what real, lasting change looks like: a home and a job, working together.

What your donation does:

Between 1st and 10th October, the ten days linking International Coffee Day to World Homelessness Day, we're raising funds to do what we've never been able to do before: help our trainees with housing deposits and support them into permanent, secure homes.

Your gift is the missing link. It turns a job into a future.

Fundraise or donate today and help us build homes that work.
