Story
This September, Team TLF is taking on the Vitality London 10K to raise £10,000 for The Loss Foundation.
We're not running for personal bests.
We're running because every day, people bereaved by cancer turn to us for support during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
And thanks to our supporters, we're able to provide that support free of charge.
Why we're running
At The Loss Foundation, we provide support groups, events, resources, and community for people who have lost a loved one to cancer.
Our support groups create a safe space where bereaved people can connect with others who truly understand what they're going through.
For many, it's the first time they've felt able to speak openly about their grief.
The need for these services continues to grow, but so do the costs of providing them.
That's why Team TLF is lacing up their trainers and taking on the Vitality London 10K.
Our goal is simple: raise £10,000 to help ensure nobody has to face grief alone.
The difference your donation makes
Every donation helps keep our support services available to people who need them most.
£18 – A Place to Be Heard
Help someone attend a support group and feel less alone in their grief.
£50 – Support a Volunteer
Provide training for a volunteer supporting bereaved people.
£200 – Sponsor a Support Group
Fund a safe, supportive session for up to 20 people navigating life after loss.
The impact of your support
After attending our services, Participants tell us they leave feeling:
"Less alone"
"Hopeful"
"Understood"
"Comforted"
"Connected"
"Supported"
"Calmer"
"Accepted"
"Heard"
"Stronger"
"More able to cope"
These are real words from real people who have attended our support groups.
Your support helps make these moments possible.
Meet Team TLF
This year's team includes staff, volunteers, trustees, supporters, and our Founder, all coming together for one shared purpose: keeping grief support available for those who need it.
Erin – Founder
After the death of her father, Erin experienced first-hand how difficult it was to find meaningful grief support.
In 2010, she founded The Loss Foundation to create the support she wished had existed for her own family.
Today, she continues to lead the charity with one mission at heart: ensuring nobody has to face grief alone.
Aoife – Volunteer
Aoife generously gives her time to support our community and is running to help ensure support remains available for everyone who needs it.
Shereen – Support Services Manager
Shereen oversees our support services, helping ensure Participants receive compassionate, high-quality support throughout their grief journey. Now she's taking on a new kind of challenge.
Shelley – Fundraiser
Shelley spends her days raising the funds that keep our services running.
This September, she's stepping away from the fundraising emails and onto the starting line herself.
Vikki – Trustee
As a Trustee, Vikki helps guide the charity's future and ensure our services remain sustainable and impactful.
This September, she's helping support that mission by taking on the Vitality London 10K.
Liam – Volunteer
Liam helps create safe and welcoming spaces for bereaved people and is joining Team TLF to raise both awareness and vital funds.
Joey – Supporter
Joey is proudly taking on the challenge to help raise money for people navigating grief after the death of a loved one to cancer.

It all helps.
Together, we can ensure that people bereaved by cancer continue to find connection, understanding, and hope when they need it most.
