Story

Each year, a dedicated community of friends, colleagues, and tree lovers comes together for something extraordinary: The Britton Fund Ride. What began as a simple idea—pedaling for a cause—has grown into a beloved annual tradition of challenge, camaraderie, and purpose. Riders push themselves not just for the thrill of the journey, but to support research and education that strengthen the health of our urban and community forests across the West.

In partnership with the WCISA 92nd Annual Conference and Tradeshow, the 19th Annual Britton Fund Ride will take place on Monday, April 27, 2027, just outside the breathtaking entrance to Yosemite National Park, California. Riders can choose short, medium, or long routes totaling approximately 100 scenic kilometers—a journey of quiet forests, rolling hills, and shared determination.

A meaningful highlight of the day is our tree-planting event with The TreeCircus at a local elementary school. Surrounded by children, teachers, and community members, we plant young trees together—living symbols of hope, stewardship, and the future we are all working to protect. This experience reminds our cyclists, sponsors, and donors why The Britton Fund’s mission matters: healthy trees mean healthy communities.

Each cyclist commits to raising a minimum of $650 for The Britton Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to science-based research and educational programs in arboriculture and urban forestry across California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, and beyond. This funding supports:

Research grants advancing tree health and care

Educational workshops and publications to share new knowledge

The Richard W. Harris Urban Horticulture Scholarship Program at UC Davis

Youth environmental education through TreeCircus and Treetures

Our cyclists are volunteers. They ride not for prizes or recognition, but for the personal challenge, the community, and the belief that their efforts make a real and lasting difference.

Your support fuels this work.

Every dollar you contribute helps ensure that future generations will learn, grow, and thrive under the shade of strong, healthy trees. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Together, we ride for trees. 🌳🚴‍♀️🌲
