Story

All money raised by the runners will go to Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation supporting charity partner Action for Children.

Action for Children are working to improve life for children in the UK. Their vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Action for Children protect and support children and young people. They do this by providing practical and emotional care and support. They make sure their voices are heard, campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives.

The team are proud to be running the London Marathon for Action for Children, the money raised will go towards supporting children, young people and families in communities across the UK, the same communities served by our Iceland and Food Warehouse stores. Together, we are one big family.

Even before the pandemic 4.3 million children were living in poverty in the UK and that figure is rising. We are committed to doing all we can for those children, so we teamed up with Action for Children and became the lead partner of their 2020 Secret Santa campaign, donating £280,000 (£10 on behalf of every one of our colleagues), then again in December 2021 by making a donation of £300,000.

Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation have donated £1 million through our charity partnership with Action for Children over the past two years. Over £405,000 will be going towards our 2022 Iceland Winter Crisis Fund to ensure more vulnerable children, young people and their families across the UK receive grants for essentials like food and utility bills.

Any donation however small, really does matter. Together we can make a big impact on the lives of the children in our communities who need it most.

Thank you!
