Story

For the 2nd year running, we are collaborating with 19 other rare cancers charities for a unique collaborative 20-day project.

Because: Cancer doesn't stop for Covid

Some cancers are less well known, but that doesnt mean they are any less important.

Covid-19 has left us with a ticking time bomb of cancers being undiagnosed.

Myelodyslastic Syndromes - MDS - is typical: hard to spot, sometimes no symptoms, mistaken as a sign of 'getting older' or working too hard - and most GPs will only see 1 or 2 cases in their career.

You can help make a difference to MDS patients and MDS UK right now.

Join the 20 for 20 challenge and be a part of something special. Together, we'll empower people to get the help they need earlier, whilst helping reverse the catastrophic effect that Covid-19 has had on the public.

Being the difference is simple, choose your challenge and complete your fantastic 20 for 20 Challenge over 20 days starting between 20 September and 20 December.

Only 20 days to make an impact to charity to keep life-saving services reaching the people who desperately need them. Or join our special Olympic relay challenge, if you cannot commit to all 20 days!

Last year, participants generated an absolutely mind-blowing £37,460.67,. A tribute to the immense generosity of the MDS community and their friends, families, colleagues and employers. INCREDIBLE! Can we do it again!?

Every single participant will be worshipped!

What will your 20 for 20 Challenge look like?

Check last years photos for inspiration.

Thank you so much for your participation and dedication - whether you know a lot about MDS, are affected personnally, or are just starting to learn about the condition.

YOUR help will make a significant difference to those affected by Myelodysplastic Syndromes !

TEAM MDS UK

Fewer people have come forward with symptoms and some people with rare and less common cancers also faced delays or changes to their treatment and had difficulty accessing support.

* 47% of all cancer diagnoses in England are for rare or less common cancers.

* The percentage of deaths from rare or less common cancers has risen from 53% in 2001 to 55% in 2017.

* 144,600 people in England are diagnosed with a rare or less common cancer every year.

* The total number of people living with a rare or less common cancer in the UK has been estimated to grow from around 1.25 million people in 2020, to 1.63 million in 2030, and to 2.06 million in 2040

Over the last 18 months, fundraising has been hugely impacted, yet cancer remains a priority for the 20 for 20 charities, so they can continue to provide vital guidance and support so desperately needed. Your help can enable them to continue with their work.

Be a part of something big and help charities for less common cancers.
