Story

Sign up and join #TEAMIITB in the 20 for 20 challenge.

We have joined forces with 20 other less common cancer charities to create a unique and exciting 20-day challenge.

Complete a 20 day challenge filled calendar any time from September 20th - November 20th. Take on the Its in the Bags special calendar, our collective calendar representing all the charities taking part, or create your own to challenge yourself.

The covid-19 pandemic has led to delays to cancer diagnosis and treatment, which could lead to as many as 35,000 additional deaths. With more than 55,000 cancer patients in England currently waiting for key tests, the emotional and practical support provided by less common cancer charities is needed now more than ever.

As the need for charity services increases, the donations that we depend on have decreased. Many fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed but with your help, Its in the Bag Cancer Support can continue to support men and their families affected by testicular cancer and also continue to raise awareness with the aim to save lives.

It’s in the Bag is run by a group of survivors with support from specialist NHS staff and provide hands-on support for men with testicular cancer (germ cell) in the South-West. We have three simple aims: Support: Being diagnosed with testicular cancer and going through treatment is a huge challenge – physically, mentally and emotionally. We provide a range of activities and initiatives to help men through this tough time. Awareness: We teach men the importance of checking their balls regularly and taking any issues straight to their GP. Spreading this knowledge promotes earlier diagnosis, which often means simpler, more effective treatment and better chances of a cure. Survival: With UK cure rates for testicular cancer running above 98%, we focus on survival helping guys tackle the emotional and practical impact of cancer, both during treatment and into their lives after.
