Since the work of Caring For Life began over 33 years ago, in addition to providing supported living homes and housing support across Leeds for people who have fallen through the net, we have always offered therapeutic daytime activities at Crag House Farm, the charity's base. The scope of those activities has grown and the farm has become a vital means of enabling people to develop a safe and constructive lifestyle, whilst also enjoying social opportunities.

The Covid-19 pandemic sadly halted all the activities at the farm, leaving many of those we support feeling they had in effect lost a family. Our reconfigured care involves staying in close contact with everyone, checking on their wellbeing, giving emergency support and providing a growing range of online and practical activities to help prevent a deterioration in mental health. In the meantime, the farm itself is being maintained, looking forward to the time when we can welcome people back to the projects.

With many of our income streams curtailed at this time, we need to raise funds to maintain Caring For Life's work now and on into the future.

Each year, we host an Open Day at the farm for people from both the local community and further afield to enjoy a packed day of activities, hear more about the charity and have lots of fun while doing so. Usually this generates in the region of £20,000, with all profits going towards Caring For Lifes running costs.

As we sadly cant host our Open Day this year, in order to cover this loss in funds, we are launching a month-long campaign to raise £20K 4 Open Day and we would love it if you could think of ways to fundraise for this!

Some ideas could be...sponsored walks (of all types and lengths!), bike rides; forsake fast food for the month; cut the coffees; have a movie night at home and send us the money you would have spent at the cinema.

We will be hosting a Virtual Reality Open Day on our website on Saturday 20th June, available for the whole summer! Do encourage family and friends to visit the farm this way and to donate to our work.
