Working with over 11,000 people with a sight impairment in Kent and surrounding areas, we’re one of the largest local sight loss charities in the UK. Our aims are to work to prevent avoidable sight loss, deliver excellent support services and help people to live independently.

Story

From one art group in Chatham to a Kent wide movement, the 20 Years of Creative Visions exhibition celebrates two decades of incredible art work by blind and visually impaired artists at the MESS ROOM.

With over 30 years of combined experience, MESS ROOM Artists collaborate across sectors- with schools, community groups, and partners- to raise awareness, provide training, and mentor the next generation of MESS ROOM advocates. As professional artists, they also develop unique commissions, curate exhibitions, and organise cultural events that promote inclusivity, equality, and the extraordinary talents of our participants.

Thank you for supporting this exhibition and the brilliant creativity of visually impaired artists.

“I feel so happy right now, I’ve had such a great morning in the MESS ROOM, I always feel so inspired hearing about everyone’s ideas. This is my favourite part of the week, making art and being with friends!” - Peer Arts Artist
