Story

The Challenge:

At 12pm on Friday 24th July, the whistle will blow and two marathon rugby matches will begin – and they won’t stop until after 12pm on Saturday.

Two games of 7s rugby will run simultaneously:

– One men’s match

– One women’s match

The goal? Play for longer than the current Guinness World Record of 24 hours and 30 minutes, set in 2017.

Each game will feature two teams of up to 12 players, using rolling substitutions to keep the action going throughout the entire attempt. Every match will follow official 7s rugby laws, ensuring the challenge remains a legitimate competitive contest, even as fatigue inevitably sets in.

It won't just be tough for the players taking part, we'll have team managers organising the squads, match officials ensuring the game is played within the laws and safely, physios to keep our players injury-free, and lots of volunteers ensuring the event runs smoothly. It will take a whole community to bring this record attempt together!
