Tobacco Merchants' House has recently marked 250 years of survival, resilience and civic life.

Built in 1776, this extraordinary Georgian townhouse is one of Glasgow’s oldest surviving buildings and a rare architectural witness to the city’s 18th-century transformation.

Today, it proudly serves as the home of the Scottish Civic Trust, Scotland’s national champion for civic pride and the protection of our built heritage.
