Katharine and her daughters, Millie (14) a Daisy (5), have moved home 19 times—often with just the clothes on their backs. Both girls have autism and special educational needs, and Daisy is immune-suppressed. Their lives have been full of uncertainty, trauma, and disruption.
Then Home-Start stepped in.
Through weekly visits, volunteer Becky supported the family with everything from navigating housing and schools, to helping with vital paperwork, and even standing by them through police statements and serious health issues. Most of all, she gave them the kind of emotional support no service could offer—just a mum helping another mum.
