2nd Ware (St. Mary's) Scout Group promotes the development of young people in achieving their full potential. This is achieved by providing fun, adventure, and new challenges for boys and girls aged 4 to 14, focusing on skills for life. Our scout hut in Poles Lane, Ware is in vital need of repair. The main hall roof and structure needs replacing to create a safe environment to run our activities each week for 200+ young people.

Story

2nd St Mary's Scout hut, has been a much used community space in the local town of Ware for generations. Based in Poles lane, it is home to weekly usage of over 250+ Scouts and Guides.

As with all buildings, it was never meant to last indefinitely, made from just a simple timber structure. It is now in urgent repair, where the roof and timber sides are no-longer structurally safe.

For the last 2 years, the main hall has been pretty much unusable, until recently, we created temporary structural support. Unfortunately this has resulted in half of the hall being unusable for young people, and steel structures placed in the centre.

It means games cannot be played, and activities have to work with the limited space.

Help us restore the hut, making it fit to last for centuries to come.
