Story
2nd St Mary's Scout hut, has been a much used community space in the local town of Ware for generations. Based in Poles lane, it is home to weekly usage of over 250+ Scouts and Guides.
As with all buildings, it was never meant to last indefinitely, made from just a simple timber structure. It is now in urgent repair, where the roof and timber sides are no-longer structurally safe.
For the last 2 years, the main hall has been pretty much unusable, until recently, we created temporary structural support. Unfortunately this has resulted in half of the hall being unusable for young people, and steel structures placed in the centre.
It means games cannot be played, and activities have to work with the limited space.
Help us restore the hut, making it fit to last for centuries to come.
