Story
On the 19th October 2025, our Chairperson James Andrews, will be yet again taking part in the Great South Run. It's a fantastic event; 10 miles/16Km around the streets of Portsmouth. In 2024 he ran to raise money for the 2nd Waterlooville Scout Group...which was very successful; and thank you once again to each of you who donated!
This year he intends to up the ante, both in terms of fundraising target AND to beat his personal best time of 1h28m41.
2nd Waterlooville Scout Group is a fantastic community organisation, steeped in history with its first meeting held on the 9th November 1909 in the back garden of 1 Jubilee Road, Waterlooville. The 2nd Waterlooville Scout Group is one of the oldest Scout Groups in the world and one of the largest in the UK.
"I am proud to continue in my role as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the group and it is my responsibility to provide a safe, encouraging and caring environment to grant our young people the opportunities to access experiences, and the infrastructure and funding for our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers unit leaders to fulfil their ambitions to help our kids learn skills for life."
Your donation will be put towards continued upkeep of our historic HQ (still roughly in the location of that original meeting!) and further bolster the money needed to continue to provide opportunities for our young people on their Scouting journeys.
Thank you!
