Many of our Explorers have been Scouting since they started Beavers at six years old. Many years later, they are still going strong, and the adventures are getting bigger and bigger (and more expensive!)
We are fiercely fundraising to raise the cost of a trip to Croatia, where several of our Young People hope to earn their Explorer Belts next year.
Full details of what this entails can be found here:

In Croatia, the team will undertake a 10-day expedition with a minimum travelling time of 50 hours over the 10 days, by foot, cycle, horse, canoe, boat or dinghy.
The team will be required to show competency in:
Navigation skills
Expedition cooking
Lightweight camping
Language
Acceptable hosted hospitality
Fitness
Proficiency in mode of travel
Teambuilding
First Aid (covering First Response as a minimum)
Budgeting
They will also be required to keep a log book of the expedition, recording places visited, route taken, project works and personal thoughts.
The team will need to complete one major project selected by the team which is undertaken throughout the expedition, and at least ten minor projects which may be chosen by the team, leadership team, peers or a mixture.
We are planning other fundraising activities and events, and will try to keep people informed about these as we go along, but a surprising number of our rather wonderful support network have asked us for a Just Giving link so they can help with donations.
Well, this is it. Please feel free to donate as much or little as you can.
Please also share this campaign to raise awareness in the local community.
If you can't donate, words of support are very welcome indeed, as are ideas and anything like unwanted gifts or bottles or anything we can use in a raffle or as prizes (please contact us on 35thhalifaxcubscouts@gmail.com if you want to do this, or if you want to donate in person rather than online).
Thank you all so very much for your support, no matter in what form it arrives.
If we raise enough, we might even be able to let them come home at the end. 😉
Many thanks and much love to you all from the Leader of 35th All Saints Halifax Scout Group.
