Celebrating 7 Years of Service, Community, and Hope
For the past seven years, FNAN Eritrean Youth and Family Outreach has been serving the Eritrean diaspora community across the UK and abroad with one simple mission: to support, empower, and uplift those who need it most.
What makes our journey remarkable is that everything we have achieved so far has been made possible entirely through the dedication of volunteers. We have operated without funding, without paid staff, and without a permanent office — yet our commitment to the community has never stopped.
“Small acts of kindness, when multiplied by many volunteers, can transform a community.”
What We Have Achieved
Since our establishment* FNAN has worked tirelessly to provide support and opportunities for individuals and families facing social, educational, and economic challenges. According to the Charity Commission records, FNAN has delivered mentoring, advocacy, counselling, advice services, workshops, and educational programmes across England and Wales.
Over the years, our volunteers have helped by providing:
- Mental health and wellbeing support
- Immigration advice and signposting
- Support for vulnerable families and young people
- Weekly English conversation classes
- IT engineering and IT essentials training
- Business and Finance
- Housing and Benefit Advice
- Construction industry awareness
- Communication Skills
- Tigrinya language lessons for children
- Employability
- Mentoring
- Healthy lifestyle and wellness sessions
- Community workshops and mentoring programmes
All of these services have been delivered with limited resources but unlimited passion.
Powered Entirely by Volunteers
FNAN is more than an organisation — it is a community movement. Every class taught, every workshop organised, every family supported, and every event delivered has been made possible by volunteers who generously gave their time, energy, and skills.
The Charity Commission reports confirm that FNAN has no paid employees and very low overhead costs, meaning nearly every donation goes directly toward supporting charitable activities and community programmes.
For seven years, our volunteers have carried the organisation forward because they believe in creating a stronger and more connected community.
Why We Need Your Support Now
As the needs of our community continue to grow, we know that volunteer efforts alone are no longer enough.
Today, FNAN operates mainly through virtual and online support services. While this has helped us reach many people, we dream of doing much more. With your support, we want to take the next important step in our journey.
Our vision for the future includes:
- Opening a dedicated FNAN community office
- Employing staff to manage day-to-day services professionally
- Expanding from online support to face-to-face community services
- Creating a safe and welcoming space for families, young people, and
vulnerable individuals
- Developing more educational, wellbeing, and youth programmes
- Strengthening long-term support for the Eritrean diaspora in the UK
Our 7th Anniversary Fundraising Goal
As part of our 7th anniversary celebrations, we are launching our 3K Fun Run fundraising campaign with the goal of raising £100,000.
This campaign is not only about fundraising — it is about building a sustainable future for our community.
Every donation, every participant, and every supporter brings us one step closer to creating a stronger FNAN that can continue serving future generations.
“Together, we can turn seven years of volunteer dedication into a lasting foundation for the future.
Join Us and Make a Difference
We invite everyone to take part in our 3K Fun Run, support the campaign, and help us continue our mission.
Your support will help transform FNAN from a volunteer-led virtual service into a sustainable community organisation with a permanent presence and greater impact across the UK.
Together, we can build hope, opportunity, and a brighter future for our community.
