Story

Let's get fit, let's have fun - let's step for Sudan and FUNDRAISE!

Join us for the four-mile sponsored RotaWalk, organised by Rotary in Dorking which will take place on Sunday 28th April 2024, on the National Trust land of Holmwood Common, due south of Dorking - or please sponsor the Team in their funny outfits to spur us on!

Poppy (10) and Serena (5) will be with us, helping to raise awareness and vital funds for children their own age in Darfur, suffering so desperately amidst the ongoing war.

We'll be taking on this 4 mile circular route with family and friends around the beautiful Holmwood Common. The route is a flattish, cinder-based all-weather circuit, suitable for all ages, and easily negotiated with push-chairs and mobility scooters.

This is a great chance to get some steps in, enjoy the countryside and perhaps do a bit of bird-spotting too. April 28th will be just under one year on from King Charles’ Coronation, so there will be some Royal connections to pass, as well as other interesting beauty spots!

Fancy dress outfits are actively encouraged!

Out of sight of the world, in the forgotten region of Darfur, conditions are bleak.

Families, mothers, children are suffering amidst ongoing fighting in the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today.

But Kids for Kids are helping to change all that!

£50 helps us donate 1 Goat to a family -so mothers can help strengthen their malnourished children with protein-rich goat's milk.

£65 enables to us give a Donkey - so families can carry heavy loads - jerry cans containing clean water, firewood, hay for their animals, or gather in a harvest.

£200 will help us plant 100 Tree Seedlings in a Community Forest - to stabilise the desert, provide shade, fruit and other by-products for families to generate an income.

£250 allows us to give 5 Goats for a family - after two years, as the flock grows, 5 goats are given to another family to benefit.

£400 enables us to train a First Aider - who can help save children's lives.

£2,000 helps us to train a Midwife - saving mothers and babies' lives.

£6,500 allows us to install a Handpump - providing clean water to children, their families, animals and communities,

£20,000 enables us to build a Kindergarten - are giving children an education and a future out of poverty.
