Better bone health for everybody. We’re proud to be the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. With 40 years of expertise and experience behind us, we are committed to helping keep the nation’s bones stronger for longer.

Story

We’re the Royal Osteoporosis Society – the UK’s largest national charity dedicated to improving bone health and beating osteoporosis. And we’re here for everyone. We equip people with practical information and support to take action on their bone health.

Working with healthcare professionals and policy-makers, we’re influencing and shaping policy and practice at every level. We’re driving the research and development of new treatments, to beat osteoporosis together.

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to lose strength and break more easily, with over 3.5 million people in the UK estimated to have osteoporosis. One in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis. ROS provide information, advice and networks for people living with the disease, as well as working with the healthcare system to improve diagnosis, care and raising overall awareness for bone health and the impact of osteoporosis.
