50 Sessions. Endless Impact.

Professional counselling. Real impact. Right here in our community. This July, we're raising £2,750 to fund 50 counselling sessions for people across the South Eastern Trust area and Newry, Mourne and Down.

Closes 31/08/2026

Ballynahinch Counselling Service (BCS) is a free, caring, confidential and professional counselling service for those age 12 years and over. The charity was formed in October 2012 by a group of concerned members of the community as a result of the high number of suicides in the local area. Trained, professional counsellors are available to help with a range of issues including anxiety, stress, bereavement, mild depression, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts, health concerns, relationship issues etc. We cover the South Eastern Trust Area and work within Newry Mourne and Down. We are also in the process of setting up a telephone Listening Ear service which will compliment the counselling service in helping to reduce isolation for people in the Ballynahinch area. This service will be provided by trained volunteers.

Story

Professional counselling. Real impact. Right here in our community.

This July, we're raising £2,750 to fund 50 counselling sessions for people across the South Eastern Trust area and Newry, Mourne and Down.

Ballynahinch Counselling Service is a registered charity (NIC102583) and BACP Organisational Member, providing professional talking therapy to adults and young people aged 12+ at no cost to clients. We work face-to-face in Lisburn, Downpatrick, Bangor and Ballynahinch, with remote options too.

Why this matters

Each client we support typically receives a course of 6 sessions — enough time to build trust and work through what's really going on, not just a one-off chat. That kind of sustained support relies entirely on funding like this. Access isn't determined by ability to pay.

Where your money goes

£55 funds one full counselling session.

£2,750 funds 50 sessions — real support, session by session, for people in our community.

How you can help

Every donation, big or small, goes directly towards session costs. Can't give? Sharing this page with five people is just as powerful — most of our support comes from word of mouth, right here at home.

Thank you for helping us deliver this service locally, and keep it there for whoever needs it.
