50 for 50!!
Just before my son Oscar’s 4th birthday he contacted a rare brain disease which left him fighting for his life, and affected nearly every organ in his body, he would spend 9mths in hospital. We were told at times his chances of ever leaving hospital were very slim and and all we might ever get from Oscar was eye movement but Oscar excelled all expectations and was nicknamed the miracle boy!! Even being left with permanent damage and many medical difficulties and huge hurdles to overcome he was able to start school. So when the time came for Oscar to move to secondary school, it was a huge worry to find the right school that would be able to cater for everything Oscar would need yet still be able to have exactly the same education and experiences everyone else his age would have, but luckily for us The Lavinia Norfolk Centre was within our catchment. The support, care, energy, enthusiasm, respect, dignity, knowledge and therapy that all the staff provide at the centre is truly amazing and beyond anything I could ever of hoped for! even with Oscar’s many up coming challenges, I know they will get him through and strive to give him the best possible education and for him to thrive, as they do every student in their care.
I feel so extremely grateful for everything the LNC have given Oscar, and has made such a difference for him to find his spot and feel comfortable about himself, the positive change has also made a difference for our home life too with the support that we get.
