Story

Five Riders go West for Highland Hospice

Candy Cameron will be joined by Hannah Bain, Connie McDowall and Teresa Collinson as they embark on a journey to the west of Scotland on horseback, all in aid of Highland Hospice.

During the month of May the group will travel for 5 days from Dores to Kinloch Hourn, covering a total distance of 25-30 miles each day. Along the way, they will stop off in Fort Augustus, Tomich, Shiel Bridge or Dornie and Arnisdale where they will spend their final night before finishing their challenge in Kinloch Hourn.

They are hoping to host a Quiz Night at each place they stop at and have organised a Ceildh in Arnisdale to help celebrate the final night of their challenge.

When asked about her reasons for organising this challenge, Candy said: “Each of the communities that we will stop at have all been wonderfully supported by the Hospice in one way or another and we wanted to do something special as a way of giving back.”

A Quiz Night is due to take place at Whitebridge Loch Ness Hotel at the start of May, in support of the group’s fundraising before they set off on their adventure.

To celebrate the completion of their challenge, an afternoon tea will be held at Aldourie Castle on the 31st of May.

This exceptional event at Aldourie Castle is being arranged to contribute to the cause. You can join us for an afternoon of elegance and philanthropy as we explore the exquisite beauty of Aldourie Castle's Gardens, Grounds, and Castle, followed by a delightful Afternoon Tea served with a glass of bubbles in the newly refurbished Steadings.

Your participation not only ensures you an unforgettable experience but also supports the vital work of Highland Hospice. By attending, you become a part of the Charity Challenge 5 Go West initiative, helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those supported by the hospice.

Limited tickets are available, so secure your place today and be a part of this special event that combines elegance, indulgence, and compassion. We look forward to welcoming you to Aldourie Castle as we join hands to support 5 Go West participants.
