Highland Hospice provides specialist care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in the Highlands. We have an In Patient Unit in Inverness, provide day care across the region and offer bereavement counselling for relatives. We aim to provide dignity when time matters most.

Story

Five Riders go West Again for Highland Hospice.

Having completed the challenge last year, Candy Cameron and her team, Jenny Munro, Teresa Collinson, Aimee Lawson-Hill and supported by Connie Mcdowell, will embark on a new journey to the west of Scotland on horseback, all in aid of the Highland Hospice.

This time during the month of April the group will travel from Dores to Glenelg, covering the distance each day in predominantly off road conditions.

Along the way, they will stop off in Whitebridge, Fort Augustus, Garrygualach, Kinlochhourn, Arnisdale and Glenelg.

With Quiz Nights along the way at the Whitebridge Hotel on the 21st April, Morag's Lodge in Fort Augustus on the 22nd and at the Glenelg Inn on Friday 25th, they will celebrate the final night of their challenge with a Ceilidh in Glenelg & Arnisdale Community Hall on Saturday 26th April, featuring the West Loch Ceilidh Band.

When asked about her reasons for organising this challenge, Candy said: “Each of the communities that we will stop at have all been wonderfully supported by the Hospice in one way or another and we wanted to do something special as a way of giving back.”

There was a magical evening on Loch Ness with Jacobite Cruises, all in support of 5 Go West Again, raising funds for Highland Hospice. Tickets raised £950 which has been added as offline total to this page. In addition, £5855 was raised from 'An evening at Aldourie Castle' on Friday 11th July.
