Setting off from the Hospice the walk will take you through Backford village and join the Shropshire Union Canal Path. You'll follow the canal right around Chester city centre and out to Christleton finishing off at The Cheshire Cat pub, where you will have the opportunity to stop for lunch.

The route will take you past various sights including 7 locks, one of which being the famous Northgate Staircase Locks, if you are lucky enough you may catch a glimpse of a narrowboat travelling through! There's also 19 bridges along the route of all different architecture and design, you'll be going under and over them get to the finishing point.
