Story
On Saturday 27th June, a group of lads will be taking on the Seven Summits of the Mourne Mountains in a single day — all in the name of fitness, friendship, and a bit of well-earned guilt.
The challenge? Over 25km of tough mountain terrain and more than 3,000 metres of ascent across some of the Mournes’ most demanding peaks. It’s no small task, but saying no was never really an option.
The reason? George Royal Academy, a school in South Africa founded by one of their own — a mate from Northern Ireland. When you know the person behind the mission, it makes it a lot harder to sit this one out. So here they are, lacing up their boots and stepping up to help.
George Royal Academy uses sport as a powerful tool to educate, disciple, and develop future leaders, providing quality education and real opportunities to children from township communities in George, South Africa.
Education has the power to change lives, yet many young people face barriers that limit their potential. By supporting this challenge, you’re helping to provide vital resources, improve learning conditions, and invest in the next generation of leaders.
Every donation — big or small — will make a genuine difference. Thanks for backing the lads, the challenge, and a cause that’s close to home and changing lives on the other side of the world.
