Story
The 7th Bebington Holy Trinity Scout Group are working to help Poulton Lancelyn Primary School to install a nature trail and allotment garden for the benefit of all their pupils, many of whom are members of our Scout Group.
The Nature Trail will be a safe, natural area that junior pupils can freely explore during their break times, but that can also be used as part of the curriculum for the whole school. We will begin this weekend by clearing the unwanted undergrowth, laying down a safe woodchip path, and installing an entrance gateway. This will be the start of an ongoing project that the pupils will furnish with interactive features to explore and further enhance their learning.
The allotment garden will consist of raised beds which will allow an accessible gardening area that will be maintained by the school's Eco Warriors and the Gardening Club. They have a wish list of plants which they would like to begin cultivate after working hard this year to overhaul the small pre-existing bed.
This project can only take place with the support of our community by people volunteering their time, donating physical resources, and supporting financially. All funds raised will be used solely for this project, and any surplus will be used to support further development of those areas beyond The Big Help Out weekend. The 7th Bebington Holy Trinity Scout Group will receive none of these funds for their own use.
There are some specific items that we would be grateful of donations of:
Woodchip, pallet collars, top soil, compost, sand, exterior paint, plants (Sunflowers, Marigolds, Snapdragons, Cornflowers, Poppies, Raspberries, Blueberries, Tomatoes, Blackberries)
Please email gsl@7thbebington.org.uk if you can help with any of these donations.
We would like to invite people to come and lend a hand at some point from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 6th or Sunday 7th July. There will be children's craft activities, refreshments, and a certificate for every child who attends. There are suggested 2 hour time slots on the sign up form to help the team plan ahead, but any time you can spare is greatly appreciated.
